Subsea engineering services are applicable to various stages of a project including Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design. The extent of the study deliverables depend on the Client’s expectation and project’s EPCI schedule as a whole. Numbers of engineering disciplines will be involved In a subsea project as outlined in the chart.

A Pre-FEED study aims to find a general solution or development option without dealing with details. However, the main challenges and concerns need to be addressed as well.

A FEED study is supposed to address all uncertainties and suggest a robust solution. In fact track projects there will be very limited possibility to meet project milestones if procurement is postponed till the end of the detailed design. Therefore, FEED needs to be mature enough to ensure no major change occurs in the next phases of the project as the procurement forlong lead items need commence by the end of the FEED.

A detailed design studies is supposed to address all engineering issues in details.

Construction and installation will be finalised based on the detailed design reports and drawings. Therefore, detailed design is supposed to provide a very extensive coverage on all aspect of the project.

Petroka has capability to perform flow assurance and process design of subsea and onshore pipelines.

Our experiences in flow assurance of multiphase production fluid starting from the reservoir, through the production tubing, Xmas Tree, Choke and subsea pipeline up to the subsea or onshore processing facilities.

We are also specialised in single phase oil, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and natural gas flow assurance.

We have long experience in hydraulics of special petroleum products like Aviation Turbine Fuel, which needs special treatment. Our areas of expertise is shown in the chart.

  • Petroka philosophy for selection of materials for oil and gas assets is a full life cycle material selection approach as illustrated in the chart.
  • Information gathered from concept selection study will be further developed in FEED and detailed design stages.
  • Parameters related to material manufacturing (operational integrity) will be also selected and checked.
  • Procedures for welding, coating, forging, heat treatment, Mechanical testing, NDT and final inspections will be reviewed on behalf of the client.
  • Advanced analysis such as HISC analysis using FEA and to DNVGL-RP-F112 will be also performed for Super-Duplex forgings exposed to CP.

Advanced analysis is a requirement for most oil and gas projects. With increasing computational power of personal computers, more complicated Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis (NFEA) is replacing the traditional linear elastic methods.

Petroka has successfully delivered Advanced Finite Element Analysis projects since its establishment covering the areas demonstrated in the chart on this page.
